James Hanson of Strasburg, died at the Sanford Hospital of Bismarck ND.

James Michael Hanson, 75, of Strasburg, died Monday, July 30 2018, at the Sanford hospital of Bismarck. He was born November 28, 1942, in Fargo, to Jacob and Myrtle Hanson.

Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army and witnessed the Berlin Wall, while serving in Germany. After his discharge in 1962, he moved to Bismarck, and worked for Weston Electric. He met and married his wife, Betty Lipp, on June 15, 1968. They moved to Jamestown where he worked for EF Johnson, and was transferred to Waseca MN. Jim accepted a job at the Jamestown High School, where he was the IT Coordinator until he retired and moved to Strasburg.

Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and Amateur Radio. His talent with radio allowed him to talk to Astronauts and actors Tim Allen and Gayle Waters. During his retirement he was a member of the Strasburg Lions Club, VFW, City Council and the Amateur Radio Relay League.

He was the computer coordinator at Baker School and serviced personal computers for many people in the area.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Strasburg, his son Michael (Shelia) Hanson of Palm Beach, Florida and one sister, Joyce Cox of Alexander, Virginia.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four sisters; Mae Bolm, Beverly Johnson, Louise Buchholz and Fern Cole.
