Richard Lloyd Measures passed away January 4, 2018, at home In Somis, California, at the age of 76 after a lengthy illness related to diabetes.

Richard was born on February 26, 1941, in Seagraves, Texas, to Lloyd and Lois Measures. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Ventura County, California, where he was a resident for the remainder of his life. Richard graduated from Oxnard High School and attended college in San Luis Obispo studying electronics. He married Susan Prater in 1976.

Rich worked at Raytheon and then Mugu Naval Base with an early retirement due to diabetes complications. Richard rode his bicycle to Mugu every day. He also bicycle raced and helped his friends work on their bicycles. He was very giving of his time to help others. His other passion was amateur radio. When he was 16, he got his license, AG6K, and started building radios. This continued for the rest of his life. Being in the field of electronics, he was very knowledgeable and able to help hams around the world with questions about their radios. He had articles published in QST, a ham radio magazine.

Richard is survived by his wife Susan Prater Measures N6FEY, a sister Mary Measures and a brother James Measures. His parents, Lloyd and Lois Crawford Measures predeceased him as well as a sister Martha Measures Dana.

The Beatles "In My Life, I Love You More" says it all.

The family will have a private celebration of Richard's life.
